U.H.C.M. and Zen - Thread 1 - The Captain's Song

Falalala-la-la-low-brow'd was he who walks among his peers as they typically want to avoid the intention of getting in his way. Members of the Third Division are aware that the reputed Ultimately Honorable Crash Master has not go hunting for Hollows for over a week. No orders came his way other than the daily reports he has to fill out for the Ninth Division's communication team. With his murakumo zanpakuto weighs over his shoulders the back of his neck, his arms are hurdling over the blade dangerously, yet unharmed. the reckless Shinigami leers in annoyance towards his peers and his war-torn uniform sways to the wind blocked by his bandages.

His fingers twitch before he adjusts his mandibles, ceasing the twitching of his rising eagerness to see corpses of Hollows go flying helplessly into the air by his mighty swings. Without warning, he stops in the middle of a square as the peers distance themselves away from him. The moment he leans back, the entire square was cleared of the peers as they feared that his fall would crater the square with a loud boom. It is a loud bang, but only from his sword and no damage done as the man falls flat on his back and adjusts his arms to be over the sword and under his head. From there forth, he seems to be napping with his eyes gaping opened and his murakumo zanpakuto improvised into an extremely hard pillow.

Zen was sitting in his office doing paper work. He calmly filed, collated and organized the papers so that they would be fairly easy to go through the complicated red tape. We was enjoying being a captain again, though he did miss being in the human world, but if he had to do this for a while he would be content. He hummed a nice tune that filled the room with floating music notes and flower petals. As he wrote a report on some repairs that needed to be done on the barracks he heard a loud bag that caused him to create a strike out on the paper, as well as filling the room with a noise of nails on a chalkboard as the notes just fell to the ground. Zen's right eye twitched, someone had gotten him out of his groove, and now he has to fill out a stack of forms to get a form to explain what happened to the request for repairs form, that would take days to do!! He knew exactly where the sound came from. 

Zen walked out of his room and to a nearby square and saw the cause of the problem, the lieutenant of squad 3, U.H.C.M. He walked up to the resting giant, standing right next to his head as he said "What do you think you are doing in my barracks?" he said with a smile on his face, Zen was trying to remain calm despite being very annoyed at U. "Well I hope you have a good explanation for this."

"I hast none. Thou art coveted thine attention, thou art be hung withered in silence." The vice-captain speaks as he does not bother to turn his attention to see who he is talking to him. He is aware that someone is speaking to him, but it seems he would care less as his tone would rattle its tail upon an unwelcoming approach. He lets out a breath of stern gruff and speaks, "Stand or fly if ye must, I have no sight to covet thy invader's ire." Clearly, he is referring the speaker as an invader as much as he invaded the silence of the speaker's domain, the speaker invaded his peace. Seeing no cracks underneath him, he did not do any damage worth repairing.

With a scowl, the vice-captain speaks for the last time of the moment, "Tis a good day, yet no blood washed with blood yet again tis day." With that, it seems he wants to conclude this quarrel quickly. It may have been the Hollows he is referring to or generally the idea of fighting as a blood sport. He continues resting on the floor of the square, free of the world's weight that the captain could press on him. The captain is free to reprimand him for he has no captain at the moment, yet until then. He breathes his freedom, and never more.

When the captain replies, the Vice-Captain picks up on the clues and rolls his eyes, knowing that the captain plans to pin him into immobility with a bakudo. The moment that the captain vanishes through a hoho technique commonly mistaken to be "shunpo," Crash Master raises his right leg and creates a reishi platform for his foot to grab onto. Just as he is throwing the kido, Crash Master flickers out of sight and out of the cone of spread from the Hyapporankan. The next thing that the captain would see is Crash Master standing in mid-air, diagonally upside-down as if he walked from laying onto his back and then into the air in one step through a hoho technique. Most noticeable is that he left his murakumo zanpakuto behind in the square, which would entail that he would respond with Kido or Hakudo as a silver-lining appears around him, which can be discerned as a reiatsu, despite his lips were moving.

After his escape from the volley, he lifts his right foot forward and drops to a flip before landing onto his feet on one of the square's walls and observe the damages as the square was littered with the Hyapporankan pillars. He looks up to the captain and crosses his arms. There is no telling what he could do at this point as he waits for the captain either to come down or to continue his kido usage. With a stare that Crash Master, Vice-Captain and Acting Captain of the Third Division has, he is not pleased with the response by the captain. With a mighty voice of command, he says to the onlooking subordinates, "Disperse now if thou forbid oneself from harm by this conflict."

Zen looked down at Crash Master as he dodged out of the way of his "bakudo". The pillars vanished after a few seconds of being in the ground, leaving no damage behind. "Well done lieutenant, your speed is good but it seems your knowledge about your peers is lacking. You should know that I am a showman, I like to put up a good show for people, and I think there would be no better show that putting a Vice-Captain to a test to see if he is Captain material."

Zen smiled down at the acting captain as he said "Well its your turn. I have made my move now I wait for yours." He did come down from the air and stood at the opposite side of the square, waiting for U.H.C.M to make his move, Zen knew that the other was also well versed in kido and was waiting to see what he would do, attack, bind him, neither; Zen was interested in seeing what he could do, expecting nothing yet expecting something at the same time.

Seeing that the captain wants to test his mettle to see if he is captain material, Crash Master shows no reaction to learn that the captain is a theatrical kind. No damages are done to the square, which made it obvious that they are indeed an illusion, a trait that was a controversial topic among his squad. Of course he also does not know how other squads would feel about attacking someone that can toy with them with false images. He stands there for a moment to figure out what it seems to the captain to be many many ways to slaughter him where he stands. Then he speaks, "Not one salt given. Thou shalt know in this time of weakness when our men art so few-no matter how merry-testing one's mettle so casually cometh knocking one's grave before the stone of our commander, not thou own."

If the captain has a mind, then he would know that means, "this is a stunt that we will never benefit from." He kicks off of the wall and lands close to his murakumo and collects it; the hum from it is deep, meaning the blade is intentionally blunted and heavy. As the members stand watching, there was no attack, not retaliation, not even on kido thrown from the executioner. Just like that, he turns around and walks off with the members stepping aside. He stops before a moment to say something before continuing to walk away from the captain's challenge, "Thou art be mortal before, thou art mortal still."

Zen smiled as he heard the vice-captains words. His test was not a physical test, it was a mental test, and he had passed. Zen stepped and stood in front of Crash Master. "This has been a surprising turn of events Crash. You passed the test." Small fireworks burst around Crash Masters head with small sounds. "The test was about how a captain should act when someone threatens to hurt innocent bystanders. You showed great judgement and restraint by turning down a challenge to spare the lives of those around you, Being a captain you have place the safety of your squad before your own." He smiled as he stepped aside "You may be on your way now, and never forget that lesson"
