Flash-Step: Shunpo (lit. "Flash Steps") is a movement technique, which allows the user to move faster than the normal eye can follow. The focal point which determines the basis of this technique is speed. As speed is the main point of the technique, the method is best characterized by how fast one can get from point A to point B in the least amount of steps. Training and skill are what determines how fast a user of Shunpo can move; those of little skill in the technique or those who have not used it for an extended amount of time would obviously be out of practice, causing those individuals to be considerably slower, which requires the use of more steps to move the same distance and become winded in a shorter amount of time. E.G: Novices in this skill would be easily caught up to, while Masters would be hard for even the extremely observant to follow.

Kido: Kido (lit. "Demon Arts") is a form of Shinigami combat based on advanced spells. These spells are produced with strong Reiryoku and fall into three categories: Hadō for direct attacks, Bakudō for battle support/binding, and Kaidō for healing. It is one of the techniques in the Zankensoki, the group of Shinigami primary combat skills. Kidō spells are usually triggered by an incantation. Experienced users can trigger them without an incantation, though the effectiveness of the spell will be diminished. Kido has three types of uses besides the normal style of incantation use: Eishōhaki which forgoes an incantation entirely, Nijū Eishō which mixes two incantations to reduce casting time on two seperate Kido and potentially confuses an opponent, and Kōjutsu Eishō which is the speaking of an incantation after the kido has been cast to increase its strength. These three styles are useable only by those who are extremely well versed and trained in Kido usage.

Sword Skill: The Sword Skill of a Shinigami relies on two things. The first is their skill in Zanjutsu (lit. "Swordsmanship") which is the fighting style for the Zanpakutō and is one of the four basic fighting styles of the Shinigami. The more experienced users of Zanjutsu will know many different fighting techniques, and will be hard to match in technique or pure fighting skill when it comes to blade combat. The second aspect of Sword Skill is a Shinigami's connection and usefulness with their Zanpakutō. This means that they have an intimate knowledge of their own inner world, and their Zanpakutō's spirit, as well as the techniques and abilities gifted to them by such. Those who show expertise in Sword Skill will have an advantage in sword combat based on how well they know their own blade, and in concordance with this, how well they know themselves.

Hakuda: Hakuda (lit. "Hand-to-Hand Combat") is a close-combat style of fighting, in which one is unarmed and uses only one's body. High-speed Taijutsu (lit. "Body Skill") attacks are used to overwhelm the opponent. One's skill in Hakuda determines their knowledge of hand-to-hand combat techniques, as well as their physical strength and skill. One who is well versed in Hakuda will be able to do things such as fight on par with weapon-using combatants without using a weapon themselves, easily learn and utilize many different martial arts techniques, and break solid surfaces with nothing more than strength alone.
