Personality:

Kinoen's personality can be described, in simplicity, with one word.

"Honor".

Now, while this may seem like a very odd decision to encapsule an entire persona with a simple word, it's not hard to see why this fits him, in many aspects of his being.

The first aspect that comes to mind is his attitude towards people he has just met, or comes across in his journeys. To these people, he has a very simple system of "benefit of the doubt". Even if he knows, or feels, said person to be evil, he will still treat them with respect and compassion, talking to them as if he knows them, or talking as if he sympathizes with them. He will try to create a bond of friendship with any he comes across, even if they don't have the best of intentions. This brotherly attitude stems from his unwavering belief in The Golden Rule. "One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself." Now, this isn't to say he'd just stand there if he was attacked. He would defend himself, but if Kinoen thought for even a second that it wasn't right to fight whoever assaulted him, he'd start yelling, desperately attempting to persuade the other to stop fighting until his efforts proved completely vain.

The next aspect we will discuss is his attitude with his friends. Kinoen holds everyone he could call an "ally" in extremely high regard. He often will use honorifics, but more often than not, he will use the English titles. "Sir", "Captain", etc. Instead of "-Sama", "-Taicho", etc. While this may seem odd for someone of his status, it's a habit he developed and never left behind. Kinoen has a bit of a sacrificial complex. He will gladly throw himself in front of blades or attacks of any kind to protect those he cares about, or those he feels deserve more life. The prime example of this can be seen in how he died in the human world, which will be explained later on. Kinoen's qualifications for an ally can extend to nearly anyone, as long as they're not hell-bent on killing him. He has an extremely forgiving nature, and is ready to give literally ANYONE second and third chances. Hell, he'd buy the Devil a bouquet if he thought it'd change him.

Because of this, it's extremely difficult for him to be able to call anyone his "enemy". He has friendly rivalries with a few, and a desire to battle with some, but to be classified as an "enemy", or to earn Kinoen's spite, is a hard task. The only true way to be classified by him as a threat, or an enemy, is to REPEATEDLY threaten one of three things.

1.) The human world

2.) The Soul Society

3.) Anyone Kinoen calls an ally.

Threats that Kinoen are not present for won't count, but anyone who he sees, or hears, continually threatening or assaulting his allies, is placed on his list of enemies. For those who make this list, a whole new side of Kinoen is revealed. Instead of his kind, caring, forgiving, heartfelt demeanor.. Kinoen takes on a dark, more sinister outlook. Instead of defensive, Kinoen goes mostly on to press the attack. Instead of forgiving, Kinoen is merciless. Instead of warmth, only pain rests in his eyes. Instead of a light, airy tone, Kinoen speaks almost in a growl, as all his unreleased rage, pain, and fear culminate towards whoever managed to earn his spurning.

Another notable thing about Kinoen is his battle spirit. This is the main thing about his personality that separates him from other captains. Instead of treating battle as an outward evil, or an outward pleasure, Kinoen treats battle as part of his very soul. Particularly interesting or challenging battles infuse him with a desire to engage in battle with that person again. He says it's something that "sets his very soul ablaze", especially when there is honor in the battle.

When it comes to willpower, Kinoen is nothing short of a miracle. His will to protect, will to battle, and will for honor all culminate to making him deadly with even his weakest attacks and base strength from sheer will to win, or protect, alone. He can disregard most pain, take attacks that would kill a normal man head on and keep fighting. The greatest example of this would be when, with just his shikai, Kinoen stopped a huge siege-machine, more of a fortress. Simply by digging his weapons into it as it moved and pushing, determined to win, unmoved by the massive size of the fortress, he was able to stop it dead in its tracks.

Kinoen's favorite food is spicy chicken with dragon sauce. His favorite drink is water. His favorite type of music is a mixture of percussion, guitar, and et cetera that can only be described as "samurai rock".

Around women, Kinoen is a bit odd. His years of battle, his devotion to his job, his determination to protect, and etc. have left him in a sort of naive mindset when it comes to the ways of the world. He is chivalrous, but he's oblivious to any subtle romantic advances. In fact, he acts with shock towards any public displays of affection, as he believes it to be inappropriate to display one's love for another in a public place. This isn't to say he's incapable of love, as he is fully capable of falling for someone, he just isn't good at flirting, is all, really.

Abilities

Natural Abilities:

Hakuda Master/Exceptional Strength: Kinoen is highly proficient in hand-to-hand combat, which he had been training in ever since he first joined the Academy. He is most likely one of the most proficient hand-to-hand combatants in all of Soul Society.  His first major accomplishment was being able to fight evenly, and gain the upper hand, against his mentor Shunsui Kyoraku. He can sufficiently block and attack others, even if they're using their own weaponry against him. He has been seen blocking weapons, techniques, and even large-scale power moves with his bare hands. Additionally, it has proven difficult to actively lay a hand on him unless he allows it, as he is quickly able to counter with a mixture of centuries of hakuda experience, and abnormally fast reflexes.  He can effortlessly catch strikes, deliver powerful blows which can smash through Espada-level Hierro and higher, block the majority of multiple punches from multiple opponents.  This is also in part to his tremendous physical strength.  Not only can he easily put holes in large structures and sections of terrain, he can also decimate environments, level blocks, rip off limbs, and utterly crush bone and other materials with little to no shown effort.  He has been shown easily overcoming those four times his size or larger. He has shown himself capable of lifting large slabs of concrete debris that he was buried under with little or no effort. Kinoen's strength is such to where he can block blades bare-handed, shatter steel, break sekiseki, or even do major internal damage with his punches.  There are very few defenses that can withstand the full brunt of Kinoen's strength.


  • Kazaguruma (風車, "Windmill"): A hakuda technique where one throws their body up into the air, making a shearing movement with the legs to get one leg in front of the other without holding on to the ground. The move can either be done backwards or sideways. When the move is done with one leg high over the head to deliver a devastating kick to an opponent sending them flying away with tremendous force.

  • Takigoi (滝鯉, "Waterfall Carp"): A hakuda technique where one blocks the kicks of another opponent by trapping the opponents one foot against the forearm and blocking the other foot with the combatants foot. The move blocks and traps the opponent who is then open to a an attack from the combatants free hand.

  • Raiōken (雷王拳, "Thunder King Fist"): A hakuda technique involving a series of ultra-high-speed punches delivered using both arms. The strength of this technique is enough to destroy a portion of karakura town.

  • Ikkotsu (一骨, '"Single Bone"'):
    A powerful, one-handed punch strong enough to send some strong opponents flying through buildings.

  • Sōkotsu (双骨, '"Double Bone"'):
    Stronger than Ikkotsu, it is a powerful two-fisted punch that, in one blow, can cause decimating and devastating damage to a weaker opponent.

  • Sandbag Beat (サンドバッグ・ビート, Sandobaggu Bīto):
    A technique where one delivers multiple strikes at an extremely fast pace causing aggravated damage to a target. The technique is powerful enough to not only shatter a Menos Grande's mask but utterly destroy its body.

  • Tesshō (鉄掌, "Iron Palm"):
    An open palm strike that can effortlessly shatter a Hollows head to pieces with single strike.

  • Ken-oh ("Fist King")"
    This technique, developed by Kinoen himself, consists of a thousand punches and kicks, thrown so fast and in such a rapid succession that it becomes nigh impossible to see them but for the most experienced combatants.  Each of these punches has the potential to shatter bone, and is aimed for a different part of the body, mixing it up and not aiming for the same part twice in a row at any time during the technique.  This creates not only confusion in the opponent, but a potentially lethal confusion, as they will have a hard time blocking or dodging the next attack.  All one-thousand hits come so fast, that any pain felt won't actually register until after the attack has completed, which is also when any bones that have been broken will do so, any organs that have been ruptured will do so, et cetera.  This technique requires a high level of concentration from Kinoen, and can only be used twice per thread.


Master Acrobat: Kinoen's hakuda mastery, reflexes, and stealth corps experience allow him to use his highly trained mind, and body, to combat on and off the ground from almost any direction at one time. His body can bend almost impossible ways, and Kinoen knows how to effectively use his own body as a weapon, not just utilizing his hands and feet for his hand to hand.

Oceanic Spiritual Power: As one who has lived and trained for centuries upon centuries, as well as one who has held a Stealth Corps position, a lieutenant position, and a captaincy before being promoted to his current status, Kinoen's spiritual pressure is quite impressive indeed. It takes the appearance, when materialized, of flames around his body. Orange hot, but burning brighter with every new reason he gains for fighting his opponent, until it grows to white heat and scorches the very air around him.  Its sheer strength is great enough to easily break free from high-level Bakudō spells and other restraints.  His spiritual pressure is enough to where he needs to control himself in battle if Lieutenants or Third Seats are around, as he's been known to cause some breathing trouble in those around him.  He has even been known to make captains sweat if they're in the same vicinity.

Poison/Stun Resistance: As a former assassin, and a special operative in both his human life and his shinigami life, Kinoen boasts a complete physical, mental, and spiritual immunity to poisons. Along with this, Kinoen has developed the ability to negate techniques or attacks that would otherwise stun or paralyze him by using a controlled string of reiatsu bursts to even out his nervous system.

Enhanced Durability/Endurance: Kinoen can fight for long periods of time, even when outnumbered, with no visible signs of exhaustion. He can take direct attacks from others unfazed. He can endure being impaled on a sword without so much as flinching from the perceived damage.  Kinoen is highly durable, in addition to this, able to sustain being kicked into buildings with enough force to go through walls and bring whole sections down on top of him while attaining no apparent injury.  He can survive explosions, massive attacks, and the like, with little-to-no signs of it effecting him.  He even survived having most of his organs carved out while still an initiate, able to make it to fourth division a few miles away to receive healing.

Shunpo Expert: As a former Stealth Corps member, and a high-level member of the Soul Society, Kinoen is also required to be highly proficient in Shunpo. He actively uses his mastery of Shunpo techniques and is highly proficient in evasion in close quarters as well as from a distance. Thus making hitting him almost impossible if not for the most advanced combatant. His movements are noticeably so fast that few would be likely to see an attack take place.  His movements when using Shunpo are barely visible at all, almost as if he is using a form of teleportation, as he
will appear and disappear with seemingly no bridge between the two occurances.

  • Utsusemi (空蝉, Cicada, referencing their molting): Way of Onmitsu, 3rd of the Shihō. It allows for a movement at great, sudden speed, leaving at least one tangible after-image behind.

  • Senka (閃花, Flash Blossom): a special Shunpo technique where one moves to their opponent's back, directly attacking and sealing one's "Saketsu" and "Hakusui" in two rapid strikes (effectively cutting them off of their spiritual energy flow). The movement is so fast that an opponent may not be able to tell whether he was attacked from the front or the back and even an outside observer may find it impossible to tell what the movements are


Swordsmanship Expert: Kinoen is proficient in the use of his Zanpakutō.  He is not a master of techniques, as he uses his Zanpakutō primarily for assassination, or for the release of it, but he has truly mastered the use of his own blade, specifically. In reality, Kinoen uses his Zanpakutō moreso as an extension of his own body, combining the use of it with his speed and strength to simply increase the killing power of his already impressive strikes. His zanpakuto style is quick, stabbing and slicing directly for vital points, aiming to kill as quickly as possible.  He is able to hold his own masterfully with his blade, able to block at an extraordinarily fast pace, and attack with efficiency and grace.

  • Senmaioroshi (千枚卸, "Thousand-Page Wholesale"):
    A technique where multiple blade movements take place so fast that they can literally shred a target into pieces.


Adoptive Muscle Memory: Kinoen can copy any movement after seeing it performed. He can achieve acrobatics, martial arts, and physical stunts.  Fighting against people who move out of an erratic and unpredictable nature is nearly impossible and can not be memorized. Copying movements from, say, an Olympic gymnast can allow Kinoen to know what is coming next. He can copy how a person aims, giving himself incredible marksmanship, though if he wanted to use certain weapons he would have to watch a person fire that weapon to be able to copy it. Such as how to fire a rifle as opposed to how to fire a bow, or how to throw knives or darts.

Master Strategist & Tactician: As a renowned combatant and the victor of many battles, along with his years of experience as a teacher and warrior, Kinoen has shown himself to be a capable leader. Repeatedly, Kinoen has shown to be insightful and crafty, quickly capable of understanding any situation that presents itself and adjust to it effectively. Kinoen has shown an innate skill to determine what actions should be taken in battle. The tactics he employs are based on subterfuge and confusion. He has shown to be adept in putting his opponents into a false sense of security and allowing them to underestimate his abilities. A common tactic of his is to gauge the opponent's strengths and weaknesses in the middle of combat.  His skill at battle tactics is undeniable: as general, he commonly sends the captains and divisions out to engage in battle, be it to relatively small or large threats, and has done so for a number of centuries.

Master Kidō User: Kinoen's second most used skill, and by far his strongest area, spiritually, save for his Shunpo, is his usage of Kidō. Kinoen, even during his academy days, was always in the top of his class with his Kidō use. His shots are terrifyingly accurate, and he has been known to use Kidō along with his Hakuda to bind and confuse opponents while he gets in close to utilize his hand-to-hand. Kinoen can recite up into the 90s without an incantation, although at that level the techniques are weakened, but not ineffective.  However, his knowledge of Kidō is so great, he can perform a good majority of them without calling out their names while retaining a great deal of their potential power. Through his many years of experience and training, he has picked up knowledge of the Forbidden Kido along the way, although he has never actually used them.


  • Eishōhaki (詠唱破棄, "Incantation Abandonment"): A class of Kidō Incantation where the Kidō practitioner forgoes using a spoken incantation at all. While it decreases the time needed to release the Kidō, it drastically weakens the spell. While anyone well versed in Kidō can use this technique, it is most effective when done by a skilled practitioner, otherwise the spell could utterly fail (e.g. explode in the user's face). The most skilled experts are capable of using this technique to amazing effect.

  • Nijū Eishō (二重詠唱, "Twofold Incantation"): a class of Kidō Incantation where the Kidō practitioner mixes the incantations of two entirely separate Kidō spells together to save time and confuse their opponent at the same time.

  • Kōjutsu Eishō (後述詠唱, "Spoken-After Incantation"): A class of Kidō Incantation where the incantation is recited after initiating the spell in order to power it up.


Shunkō (瞬閧, Flash Cry): An advanced technique that combines hand-to-hand combat with Kidō. He fights by surrounding his back and arms with pressurized Kidō. The technique can allow him to instantly neutralize an opponent's movement, apart from enhancing his arms and legs for battle. The Kidō itself can also be controlled and fired at opponents from his body, and can be used to create massive explosions. Kinoen learned this technique from Yoruichi Shihoin, and has completed his knowledge of it.

  • Hanki (反鬼, Reverse Demon): This technique is an ability Yoruichi taught Kinoen to use during Shunkō, which nullifies an opponent's Kidō by hitting it with a Kidō of perfectly opposite speed and energy. The ability can even neutralize an opponent's movements.

Kinoen boasts being one of the few living (and one of the only confirmed) Dual Zanpakuto users in the history of Soul Society.  NOTE: He must use these separately after a certain point.  He can release one, and then the other, in Shikai state.  Or have one released to the bankai state and the other in shikai, but he cannot have both Bankais active at the same time. (Unless a special condition is met)

Shikai Description:

After uttering his shikai command, Kinoen's zanpakuto thins out and extends into the slender, rapier-style blade of his shikai.  This is the only visible change for this form.

Shikai Abilities:

Basic Molecukinesis:
Kinoen has the ability to mentally move any object that his abilities effect. Meaning, if he broke down a table or a building with Dispersion, he can mentally control the shards of shrapnel made.

Molecular Dispersion:
Breaking down the base molecules of any given object in the environment, Kinoen can seemingly make said object disappear entirely from existence. However, what he simply did was separate the molecules, splitting them into "pieces", per se. So what happens when he forms them back together? You get shrapnel. A LOT of shrapnel, depending on the size of the original object. This shrapnel can then be hurled through the air at about the speed of your average bala. It'll cut like a Zanpakutō, and can easily pierce base-level hierro. Apart from this, chunks of shrapnel can "explode" towards a target, much like a shotgun. The accuracy reduces on this, as it scatters, but about 50 pieces will fire at a time, each with twice the speed of a bala, and about 1.5x the cutting power of a Zanpakutō, able to pierce an adept-level hierro. The reduced accuracy keeps this from being too effective, however.

Molecular Acceleration/Inhibition:
Kinoen can alter the molecules that make up objects, not changing or moving them, but effecting them in such a way to effect the object itself. For instance, say someone fired a Cero at Kinoen. Kinoen could lower the temperature of every molecule of it, freezing the attack almost instantly. Not in a block of ice, but just as if the attack was MADE of ice. This makes him almost completely immune to energy attacks, as he can usually get this ability prepped before they even reach him. This doesn't work on sentient beings, however. (besides plant life, animals, bugs, etc.). Another function of this is the ability to accelerate the movement of molecules in an object. This can be used in environmental objects to make them light aflame, or it can be used on Kinoen himself to access a level of enhanced speed, similar to that of a quincy steps technique, without actually using spiritual pressure to do so.

Molecular Adhesion:
Kinoen uses this ability to keep from getting knocked back by attacks that would otherwise make him stumble or fall. By binding the molecules in his body with those of the ground or a wall or even a roof, he can be completely immovable from that spot by anything but his own will. Using this, he can also carry himself up walls, on ceilings, etc. without any movement of his own body, just moving the molecules that bind him to the wall, floor, ceiling, or etc.

Molecular Distortion:
An interesting ability, more for show or for debuffing than anything. If an enemy say.. picked up an object. A pole, a building, a train, what have you. Kinoen can disable the binding forces in that object, causing the separate pieces and molecules to crumble into bits, making the object completely useless as a weapon. This cannot, however, be used on Zanpakutō, sacred, or any weapon that is bound to the user.

Base Molecular Reinforcing:
Kinoen, in shikai, has the ability to tighten the bonds of his own molecules and strengthen them, clustering them closer together as his skin re-enforces against attacks.  The strength of this added resistance can get up to an espada-level hierro in strength, on top of his own.  His durability reaches some ridiculous levels because of this, and his high pain tolerance, as well.  Along with this, he can use the same clustering techniques to reinforce his muscles. He improves his strength for hand-to-hand this way. At base level with this ability, his strength is automatically beyond anything humanly possible.  500,000 lbs of pure force.  He can also use this reinforcement to strengthen any weapons he may pick up, making them nigh indestructible, or using every day objects as a weapon by giving said object the properties and reinforcement of a Zanpakutō.  He can now double the effectiveness, strength, and durability of any weapon/object he picks up. Another thing he can do at this stage and up is thus: Kinoen can actually irritate the molecules that make up any weapons he picks up, or objects he picks up as well, setting them at an erratic charge and movement. The result of this is that any time said weapon/object collides with something, it sets off a small explosion of energy at the point of impact akin to an Espada's cero.

Molecular Combustion:
A division/enhancement of Molecular Acceleration. With this, Kinoen can accelerate the molecules within an object even more than the usual. He can accelerate them to such a point that they rapidly concave into a gaseous state, causing the object in question to explode, as all the molecules within simultaneously accelerate into spontaneous combustion. This explosion does not occur as an outward display of fire and particles, but instead as a large, spherical blast of blue energy that starts as a small explosion, before drawing in all electric energy from the surrounding area (roughly 30 miles) and using it to cause a huge explosion the size of Moscow, width-wise, and the size of the empire state building, height wise. This explosion carries the destructive potential, force, and damage-output of roughly a small star impacting with earth. However, this is only the case if the object that was combusted was skyscraper-sized. Otherwise, it's not as potent. It can range anywhere from cero-strength to cero oscuras strength, depending on the scale of the object, but the largest of objects (at minimum 35 meters tall) are what cause the amount of destruction listed above. This ability is very taxing at max strength, and therefore can only be used 1 time per thread. Medium-sized buildings/objects twice (think three-story house) 5 times (cero oscuras strength) , small buildings/objects (think a two-room apartment) 10 times (Gran Rey Cero strength), and mini-objects (think a picnic table) 20 times. (Cero strength)

Molecular Deceleration:
Kinoen can actually slow the momentum of molecules, slowing down attacks or environmental threats as he sees fit. This does not stop them completely, but he can slow things down to about 1/2 an inch per second. As with his other abilities, this cannot be used on spiritual beings.

Molecular Manipulation:
Kinoen can move the molecules inside objects, changing their position to alter the shape of the object itself. He can make larger or smaller objects, but they'll become weaker or stronger depending on whether he's stretching the molecular bonds or weakening them. No matter what object he makes, however, it'll always keep the properties of the object he made it from.

Advanced Molecukinesis:
This allows Kinoen to openly move objects at a molecular level, no matter the weight, as if they were feathers, with his mind. He couldn't lift a planet, obviously, but he can lift skyscrapers this way. Along with this, he has a more complex control over the molecules of his own body and the surrounding area, allowing him to walk through walls, walk on water, and remove all the friction in an area (the max radius of this being about 2 miles).

Molecular Reapplication:
A spinoff of his Molecular dispersion. Kinoen can actually re-combine the pieces of shrapnel that are made from objects he pulls apart. This can be as simple as just rebuilding the object, or as vicious as putting two or three pieces back together INSIDE of an enemy who had been pierced by said pieces.

Molecular Separation:
Kinoen can seperate molecules that are mixed together. A good example of this would be separating oxygen molecules from water to create air-bubbles underwater. Simple things like this are a good example, but not the only example. Another example would be removing the oxygen from fire, putting it out instantly. Things like this make this a formidable ability.

Bankai Primera

Bankai Appearance:

Kinoen's bankai actually doesn't appear to change anything about him at all. With a loud declaration of "Bankai", Kinoen's blade dissolves into energy, which then swirls around him and into the core of his being. At this point, his energy spikes to its maximum, destroying a good portion of the ground around him, and creating a huge mass of energy around him, through which it's nigh impossible to see.

Bankai Abilities:

Kinoen retains use of his shikai abilities in Bankai, with the exception of those that receive an upgrade from the power transition.

Molecular Immobilization:
Kinoen, instead of just slowing the momentum of molecules inside objects, can also now halt them completely. This, along with slowing and freezing, makes ranged attacks redundant, to a point, when fighting him. This molecular halting, along with slowing and freezing, can also be used on projectile weapons. As long as it's not in the opponent's hand, it can be altered.


Molecular Transference:
This ability allows Kinoen to move molecules at an ungodly speed, breaking them apart and traveling along airwaves before reforming them somewhere else. This can be used to move objects, attacks, and even himself. Much like a true teleportation, this will move said object, or Kinoen, instantly from point A to point B, however, if someone could SEE on a molecular level, and somehow disrupt the movement of the molecules, then they could disrupt the teleportation, and cause Kinoen, or the object he's moving, to re-appear wherever the disruption occurred. This disruption would have to happen in LESS than an instant, however, to truly be effective.

Molecular Destablization:
Sort of like combustion, though much more sinister. Kinoen, in Bankai, can reach into the very core of an objects molecular structure, supressing the atomic charge that it carries, whether it's positive or negative, he supresses it entirely. This can include clothing on opponents (for lulz), but not the opponent themselves. By neutralizing the atomic charge, the ability causes the molecules to rapidly break down into base particles, before melding with the atmosphere as various gases. This causes the object, seemingly, to dissolve into nothing in only a second's time.

Advanced Molecular Reinforcement:
Kinoen can actually FURTHER reinforce the molecular binds that make up his defense. It gets to a point where the clusters protecting his skin become so strong that it almost seems as if it becomes sekiseki itself, while still being soft to the touch. It'd take an extremely strong attack to even pierce his skin, to the point where even A tiers would have a hard time even being able to scratch it in this form. For his musculature, Kinoen' strength becomes utterly ridiculous, and seemingly impossible to the weaker or the mortal. Picture a bullet train was on path down a set of tracks, full speed, full strength, accelerator broken, and everything. Kinoen could stop it FROM THE SIDE with one hand. Just by slamming his hand against the side and digging his fingers in, he could stop it cold without any pull or damage to himself. Sure, he'd kill everyone inside, but so? The train stopped. His maximum lifting force is 10,000,000 lbs in this state. As for his weapon reinforcement, the strength, durability, and effectiveness he can add to a weapon is now triple its base level.

Molecular Cloning:
An advanced form of meiosis: Kinoen can clone all his cells at once, branching them off of him into a perfect copy of himself. This copy has no abilities, but has the same voice, build, and is mentally controlled by Kinoen. Kinoen can make an infinite amount of these, but none of them have any spiritual energy. While Kinoen is a master at disguising his reiatsu, anyone who is extremely adept at detecting reiatsu could find the real Kinoen.


Molecular Replication:
If an attack manages to pierce Kinoen' skin, the cells rapidly clone themselves, replicating at such a speed to where the wound will heal almost instantly. This applies to any cuts, shots by energy attacks, burns of any kind, etc. However, the more intense the wound, the longer it'll take to regenerate. For instance, a small cut could be healed with maybe a sentence or two. Meanwhile, if Kinoen was bisected at the waist, it'd take a whole post to reconstruct himself. He can't heal at all if he's beheaded, however, as the seperation of his brain from his body severs connection to his power, and allows him to die.


Molecular Evolution:
Probably the most potent ability Kinoen possesses, comparatively.

This accesses the full potential of his Molecular ability. Whenever an attack pierces his skin, the molecules inside the skin that it pierces reads the attacks spiritual signature, atomic makeup, and the composition of the elements that make it up. After doing so, the molecules across his entire body cluster and add elements, reversing charges and changing compositions. The effect of this is that Kinoen will be completely immune to that attack the next time said person tries it. (E.G: A cero, or any strike with any spiritual weapon.) His skin builds up a resistance to it, deflecting said attack into nothing as its molecular makeup splits apart, dissolving the attack into nothingness, but copying the signature of that attack. This does not, however, apply to his own reiatsu, if someone took that from around him, weaponized it, and launched it back.. if it managed to cut him, he would not become immune to it.

This ability, however, is on a fight-by-fight basis. Whenever Kinoen enters the same "plane" (area/thread) as someone with intent to harm him, this ability activates, the counter set at 0. When the counter gets to 10, Kinoen can combine the elements in his molecules that made the seperate reiatsu signatures, throwing them back at the enemy in an energy attack that contains the properties, force, damage, etc. of the accumulated attacks that he built immunity to. After this, the counter resets to 0. This counter does not carry over from thread to thread. If a thread of his ends while he's on 9, tough luck. The next thread still starts at 0.

Sealed Zanpakutō Appearance:

Kinoen's sealed zanpakuto doesn't appear to take the form of a zanpakuto at all, hence why most wouldn't assume him to be a wielder of two zanpakuto if one were to observe him.  Instead, it takes the form of a cane with a snake wrapped around the shaft.  He uses this cane for walking, and as a comedic weapon to bop those who are deserving of it. When in need, he can strip away the cane disguise. When he does this, the snake will seem to slither up the shaft into the grip, a light will flash, and the wood will dissolve, leaving behind the sheathed sealed blade.

Shikai Description:

Kinoen, to release this shikai, speaks the command and tosses the sheath into the air. As he does this, it converts into pure spiritual energy, swirling around him as a great clap of thunder is heard above. After this, the energy will flow into his newly-revealed shikai blade which appears out of seemingly thin air, now a long and ornate sword, more decorative and vicious than his sealed blade.

Shikai Abilities:

Kinoen's shikai is based primarily in an element known as "Storm". Or, rather, the fury of Nature itself. His abilities all revolve around such, and his connection to Nature becomes more apparent as he fights.

Weather Control:
In his shikai, Kinoen has the ability to change the weather at will. From any bright sunny day, he can make a thunderstorm. Give him a blizzard, he'll make a flash flood. Send a tornado, bam, hawaiian vacation. Using his spiritual energy, fused with the atmosphere, Kinoen can control what happens when, when it comes to the forecast.

Lightning Strike:
This ability actually serves a dual purpose. Calling lightning down from the heavens, Kinoen can either issue a direct strike of about 10,000,000,000 volts directly onto an enemy location. (Allowing dodge time, but the margin is slim.) OR, Kinoen can strike his own blade, infusing it with the lightning and allowing his strikes to be faster, more precise, and any time they collide with anything, about 10,000,000 volts of electricity will shoot into it. If done this way, the infusion will last about three posts before fading out, after this it cannot be used for another five posts.

Whirlwind:
The power of the wind aids Kinoen for this ability. Infusing himself with the wind and the air, Kinoen's speed doubles for all movement, attack, even shunpo, for three posts. However, this is just the basis of this ability. On top of this, Kinoen can also create a swirling vortex of wind and debris from the immediate area, a virtual tornado, or hurricane if over water, around himself from his waist down to below his feet. This hurricane allows him flight at roughly jet speed, and also allows him to hurl debris of any size, form, or weight, at his opponents. While in this whirlwind, energy attacks, or ranged attacks in general, will not typically effect him, as they'll get caught in the vortex and dissolved, the energy being converted for Kinoen's own use. The third use of this ability is as Wind is intended, to blow. And by that, I mean that Kinoen's wind can be used as a sort of forced push in any given direction, shoving about 12 tons of force into anything, or anyone, that happens to be in the wind's way.

Flash Flood:
Kinoen's next "storm" ability is water. Using his control of the waves, Kinoen can flood an environment almost instantly, overfilling the soil of the very ground so the water is contained on the battlefield, about 10 feet of it total in all areas. However, Kinoen can also create water from his hands. With his water, Kinoen can create. He can create weapons of various types to fight the enemy with, coming from the water in a direct attack, each with the resilience of steel, though they've come from water. On top of this, Kinoen can also create traps to enclose his opponent, using the water to attempt to drown them as well. He can also use a sub-ability of this, called "Tidal Wave", to send away all the water on the battlefield by gathering it into one gigantic wave, sending it crashing down on top of the opponent. The strength, size, and speed of the wave is directly proportional to the size of the battlefield. So an arena would equate to about bala strength, and speed, and the wave being roughly the size of the room. Meanwhile, an entire city would equate roughly to a cero oscuras in strength, a bala in speed, and be absolutely enormous in size. Once he uses this ability, however, he can no longer use water control.

Hail:
When Kinoen uses this ability, the sky darkens with thick, rolling clouds. The air around them grows dense with spiritual pressure, and a hailstorm begins. This is no ordinary storm, however. Each individual hailstone is a bala of sorts, and the sky rains down roughly 15,000 (5,000 per post over a total of three posts) of these on top of Kinoen and his opponent. While Kinoen is unaffected if the hail hits him, the opponent might have more of an issue. This ability can be used only twice per thread, but it can be potent, depending on the opponent.

Fog:
Perhaps his most simple ability, Kinoen can make a dense fog and fill the area with it, making visibility almost impossible. Along with this, the spiritual fog actually acts as interference to spiritual detection. Unless his opponent is a master at sensing reiatsu, they won't be able to detect him. Kinoen can use this fog to dash around and send multiple attacks from unknown and unseen directions, or he can use it to escape. The fog will remain on the battlefield for three posts.

Bankai Segunda

Bankai Appearance: Much like with his first zanpakuto, Kinoen's bankai doesn't appear to change anything, the blade simply dissolving into thin air as his energy cascades into the surrounding environment, before dissipating into Kinoen's being, entering his Bankai.


Bankai Abilities:

Kinoen's bankai forgoes use of Nature's wrath, and instead uses nature itself, and all things within, as his OWN wrath. In bankai, the reason that he doesn't have a weapon is because the world BECOMES his weapon. Using his power over the elemental, Kinoen transforms his entire body into a living conduit for the earth's will.

The Earth:
Kinoen can channel his reiatsu into the earth, or any material that had come from the earth, including buildings (based on the materials they're made of), trees, or whatever else might be attached to the ground. When in bankai, Kinoen has complete control over the area around him, and everything in it that comes from the earth. Using this, Kinoen can reshape the environment to his liking at any given moment, changing the elevation of plates and ground, altering building placement, launching things from the earth at opponents, crashing them down, ripping trees from the ground and hurtling them at opponents, etc. Along with this, he can use the materials in anything he touches to make his own personal combat more effective. For instance, if he was standing on a building, he could pull the concrete or steel from below him, forming it over his legs, or whole body, creating a thick armor over him. However, his spiritual energy allows him to alter the makeup of these materials to make them as light as he wants, regardless of what material it is. However, he can't change the durability, whatever material he decides to use will decide how strong the armor is. Another example is that, if he was standing near a wall, or a block of sekiseki, or something else of the sort, Kinoen can use that material to make a weapon of any kind, wielding it as if he were a master of the use of that particular weapon. The rules of the weapon are the same as the rules of the armor, the material he makes it from decides the durability.

The Water:
Kinoen can harness the water in the air, the water in the environment, the trees, etc. Not only can he move it freely around the battlefield, he can also multiply it, create it, and turn it against enemies. For instance, if an opponent has water as their theme for their powers, they'll find themselves being pretty useless against Kinoen in bankai, as unless they have a way to prevent it, Kinoen can take control of their water and use it against them. He can use this much of the same way that he can use it in Shikai, creating weapons, or using it for direct attacks, along with making prisons and cages for his enemies. However, he doesn't have the tidal wave ability in this form. In exchange, however, his water weaponry is a lot more potent, and can even take the shapes of guns, with the bullets being made of water and firing at bala speed, and cero strength. Beyond this, his water ability allows him to retain control of the weather.

The Fire:
Kinoen's fire actually starts with his "battle spirit". Simply being involved or invested enough in a battle, loving it, relishing it, or needing to win it, will make Kinoen's "soul set ablaze". If he is in bankai at any time during, or after this realization, his very reiatsu will actually have the heat and take the shape of flames. (As opposed to just looking like them, as per his normal reiatsu) Kinoen's reiatsu flames burn at roughly 15,000 degrees C, and at about a ten inch radius around his body. However, this is not the only thing Kinoen can do with fire. He has the capability to set literally anything in the environment ablaze with a mere glance. This excludes his opponent. Beyond this, after creating flames, Kinoen can do almost anything with them, this includes throwing them at the opponent, forming them into structures or other attacks, using them for walls or barriers, etc. He can also create fire around his own being, hurling balls of it for attacks, engulfing himself in it to enhance his hand to hand, etc.

The Air:
Kinoen's "air" specialty in bankai is one that plays more to his specialties than any other, with the possible exception of Earth. "Becoming the wind", in a sense, Kinoen, imbuing his body with the power of the wind, gains a major increase in speed. He can dance around his opponent as if he was, himself, a gale. Bending and twisting in impossible ways, where his head is one moment could be replaced with his foot the next. His combat style using air is truly unpredictable. Along with this, he can also harness the air to USE for attacks as well. Swirling it around his hands and feet, or any weapons he might be wielding, Kinoen can increase the force and speed of his attacks. If he so chooses, he can increase the velocity of the air and direct it at the opponent to attempt to force them back. Gale-force winds that kinoen can direct have the potential to throw back even opponents on his level, unless they have some sort of anchor to keep them on the ground. Along with this, Kinoen can use the flow of the air to re-direct enemy attacks as well, sending energy and ranged attacks off course, even directing them back at the opponent. Finally, Kinoen can make "blades" out of air. These blades have a Zanpakutō-like sharpness, and can be used for three purposes. One, he can move his hand in a slicing motion, making a blade appear in front of an enemy, slicing towards them, from nearly anywhere. Using this, he can basically swordfight at long distance. Two, he can launch them from close to him at an enemy, sending them high speed and high strength, making an almost cero-like blade. And lastly, he can materialize them in his own hands, using them like real blades.

The Light:
Kinoen's elemental abilities also extend to the light. The "Light" part of his bankai takes several forms, the first being "refraction". Using this ability, unless Kinoen's opponent focuses on a specific area of his body, their vision of him will be skewed. Unless his opponent focuses on his left shoulder, he'll bend and twist in their vision. This ability allows him to, in his opponents vision, anyway, come from seemingly random directions, cutting and slicing like a madman. Couple this with his already acrobatic nature, and his impossible movements with The Air, and Kinoen becomes nearly impossible to land a solid hit on, though that's the challenge of it.

  • Shield of Light: By holding his arm out horizontally facing left and putting his right hand on his forearm, he can make a circular shield made of light in front of him. This shield can withstand one attack up to a Hadō 88 in strength before it breaks. Once it breaks, it takes 3 posts before he can use it again.

  • Bars of Light: By pointing the tip of his finger at the enemy's heart, a wall of thin bars, like a wall of bakudo 62 in appearance, will appear behind him. This wall will simultaneously fire out a hundred bars of light energy. This energy has the damage strength of a bala, but the knockback strength of a cero. He can only use this ability twice for any given fight, and it can't be within 5 posts of each other.

  • Final Flash: Kinoen can, only once in a fight, drop to the ground in a kneeling position, turning the ground around him and his opponent completely white for a half-mile diameter around them. From this white ground, a huge explosion of light erupts skyward. This light is enough to stun and possibly incapacitate any opponent in the circle, depending on their strength, it does not effect him. However, after using this ability, his refraction stops completely, and he is unable to use the light any further.



The Darkness:
Kinoen's aspect of "darkness" is literally the simplest of his bankai powersets. As his heart is not dark enough to allow him to harness any "dark" or "evil" abilities, the only real ability that this gives him is the ability to travel through shadows adeptly. By this, he simply dissolves into his own shadow, his shadow still remaining, but him being gone. His shadow can then move between other shadows. This is primarily, and only, used as an escape technique. He can only do this once per thread, and coming out of it leaves him too fatigued to fight, making combat application impossible. Apart from this, he gains no abilities.

The Spirit:
Kinoen's final element is "The Spirit". Basically, this allows him to harness the ambient reiatsu in the air, and the reiatsu that his opponents output, to enhance his own power. Using the reiatsu in the air, Kinoen can enhance the power, strength, or speed of his attacks as he sees fit, all depending on the concentration of the reiatsu. However, this can only go so far. It's the other opponent's reiatsu that he has fun with. Being a primarily hand-to-hand combatant, Kinoen's main real advantage is this power. If an enemy sends a blast of energy of any kind at him, be it spiritual, elemental, or otherwise, Kinoen can actually break down the reiatsu that the attack is made of. Unless there is a defense in the attack to prevent this (such as Xaver's Gáe Bolg), Kinoen can take that reiatsu and form it into a sort of "Sphere of Control" around his own body. Any reiatsu he has collected in this "sphere of control", Kinoen can use to enhance his own defenses against attacks of the same nature, based on the attack in question. For instance, if Kinoen broke down a cero, then his skin would harden enough to be able to deflect the next cero. However, this sphere only lasts from battle to battle, and doesn't work against hand-to-hand, or attacks that make the environment turn against him. Also, if the opponent has control over their own reiatsu or attacks, a high level, they can resist this break-down of reiatsu, possibly even negating it entirely. Another thing he can do with this reiatsu is use it along with his own to double, or even triple the strength of his Kidō. A very effective tool, as Kidō is his main form of ranged combat. And finally, surrounding his hands, feet, head, etc. with this reiatsu, he can make his physical attacks stronger, and faster. With the combination of all his strength enhancers, Kinoen's hand-to-hand becomes truly monstrous.

Now, while being a master of the elements may seem like a huge deal, Kinoen's power comes with a price. Seeing as his custom reiatsu signature touches all the elements around him to allow quick response time, using his bankai is unbelievably draining for Kinoen. Along with this, using attacks/defenses from more than, say, 2 or 3 together at one time would make it extremely difficult for Kinoen to keep track of what he's doing, making the very real possibility of backfires.
